CIC

OUR MISSION

To support songwriters from low socio-economic backgrounds, or earning a low income, by offering a bursary to attend a songwriting retreat in Knoydart.

WHY HAVE WE SET UP A CIC?

Not everyone can afford to attend one of our retreats so we are offering a number of bursary places to highly talented songwriters who are struggling to progress in their career due to their financial circumstances.

These songwriters would benefit greatly from attending one of our songwriting retreats as they would experience daily masterclasses and writing challenges, get the chance to meet and collaborate with like-minded musicians, receive bespoke one-to-one support, mentorship and career guidance from our multi award-winning Writers in Residence, and perform their newly written songs live at the end of the week in The Knoydart Hall. The outcome substantially increases their catalogue of songs, helps them understand how to commercialise their work to enable a sustainable career within the music and arts industry, develops their self-belief and creates a whole new network of musicians.

Also, these working relationships, collaborations and friendships amongst the fellow attendees and mentors are designed to continue long after the retreat ends. A new family is born from each retreat where everyone continues to be supported, encouraged, and nurtured, which then leads to more collaboration, more confidence, more writing and more songs being released.

WHAT WILL THE BURSARY COVER?

Each bursary place has a value of £2,500 which covers the cost for one songwriter to attend a songwriting retreat for a week, including accommodation for six nights, full board, and travel costs.

OUR STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP

We are setting up strategic partnerships with leading music charities who will be helping us find the attendees with call outs during the years.  We will be announcing when they will be launching their calls for entry soon.

MUSIC FOR ALL is dedicated to changing lives across the UK by improving access to music making.  We are a passionate, focused and ambitious UK charity helping disadvantaged music makers experience the joys and far-reaching benefits of making music.

OUR AMBASSADORS

We are completely honoured and delighted that our project has the support from two incredible and influential members of the music industry - Rob Dickins CBE and Andrew Roachford MBE.

SUPPORT OUR FUND

We are always looking for corporate sponsors and philanthropic individuals - who share a love and appreciation of music and the art of songwriting - who would like to help make this rare opportunity available to struggling musicians, in the knowledge that this experience will have a significant impact on their future and long-term wellbeing. If you are interested or would like some more information please email Janey.
