THE ULTIMATE WILDERNESS
Imagine photographing somewhere that has rarely been photographed before? Well now is your chance…
Known as Britain’s last great wilderness, the Knoydart peninsula offers a landscape like no other. Situated on the far west coast of Scotland, adjacent to the Isle of Skye, there are no roads in and no roads out so access is only by boat or, for the more adventurous, a two-day hike – it really is a truly magical place. You could almost go all day without meeting another person!
The Knoydart Photography Retreat has been given exclusive permission to access un-touched landscapes and, alongside the Knoydart Rangers, you will spend six days photographing this unique wilderness with award-winning photographer Julian Calverley.
Below is a selection of recent photographs taken by Julian in Knoydart.

MORE ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE
THE LORDS’ HOUSE
You will be staying in Inverie, the main village on the peninsula where you will stay, which is home to approx. 110 residents and the most remote pub in the British Isles, The Old Forge. You will be staying in large private house, owned by a Lord, situated on the shores of Loch Nevis - which is Gaelic for Heaven. And heaven it is. You could lose yourself for hours just looking out of your bedroom window across the loch!
Your stay is fully catered. Janey (founder of The Knoydart Retreat Ltd) has prepared a wonderful home-cooked seasonal menu for all dietary requirements utilising the delicious local produce – especially wild venison for the meat eaters! Daily full-cooked breakfasts, packed lunches for your outdoor adventures, baked afternoon teas and a two-course dinner each evening. Everyone eats together around the large table in the dining room and, after dinner, you can all relax around the open fire in the sitting room. One evening we’ll take you down to The Old Forge for your remotest pub dinner ever where local musicians often play impromptu Celtic sessions.
ALL WEATHER ALL TERRAIN
As Scotland can be known for offering four seasons in one day, this will be an all-weather, all terrain photography adventure.
A ONCE IN A LIFETIME SCOTTISH ADVENTURE
The limited number of attendees guarantees one-on-one time throughout your stay with the multi award-winning photographer Julian Calverley, and also guarantees a single room occupancy in the house on the loch.
